MCA Cannabis Industry Professional Certificate Program
The Maryland Cannabis Administration’s Workforce Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships (WISP) Division is excited to announce the Cannabis Industry Professional Certificate Program. This first-of-its kind industry certificate provides advanced-level occupational training for cannabis professionals in Maryland, and is available at no cost to eligible participants.
The Cannabis Industry Professional Certificate Program provides advanced training and education to Maryland’s incumbent workers and MCA Workforce Development Program alumni.
Participants will gain in-depth knowledge about lab testing, packaging, and labeling to ensure compliance with state regulations, learn to adopt good manufacturing practices and quality assurance techniques to maintain product integrity and consumer safety, and explore the importance of inspections and enforcement in the cannabis industry to support patients and consumers. The program addresses employee protections in the workplace, fostering an inclusive environment and strong understanding of occupational safety practices to ensure a safe work environment across the
industry.
Certificate Requisites
To earn the Cannabis Industry Professional (CIP) Certificate, participants must meet the eligibility criteria, complete virtual and hands-on courses, and successfully complete the certificate exam. Upon successful completion of all requirements, participants will be awarded the Cannabis Industry Professional (CIP) certificate.
